Introducing The Dementia Sessions
The Dementia Sessions series of online dementia training courses, presented by Behaviour Analyst Dr. Emma Williams, were designed to teach all carers about important behavioural guidance, provide advice on why different behaviours might happen and how to support positive outcomes. Most of the carers that she has come across, during years of clinical work, told her that one of the biggest struggles they had was how to manage different behaviours that they hadn’t experienced before, such as wandering, distressed behaviour, refusal with personal care tasks, or a whole range of other behaviours. Dr. Emma wanted to share her knowledge about techniques you can implement that can help reduce distressed behaviours and enhance person-centred care leading to improved quality of life, for both yourself as the caregiver, and the person living with dementia.
The Dementia Sessions:
Washing & Bathing
There can be many factors that affect the decline in personal hygiene when someone is suffering from dementia. This course teaches all carers how to create more positive experiences for everyone involved.
The Dementia Sessions:
Dressing & Grooming
People with dementia can behave unexpectedly. This course was created to teach all all carers ways to reduce stress for all involved in dressing and grooming routines whilst producing positive outcomes.
The Dementia Sessions:
Agitation & Aggression
This course is designed to teach carers of people living with dementia some possible ways to manage the aggressive and agitated behaviours that are commonly associated with those living with dementia.

Guided Learning
This type of course is aimed at anyone that works directly with people with dementia who wants to develop practical behavioural skills to better improve the lives of those they work with and reduce behavioural issues.
We recommend that this type of course is most suitable for direct care staff working with people who live with dementia in care homes, nursing homes, EMI settings and dementia wards. It is also suitable for team leaders, managers and dementia care practitioners.
For caregivers seeking to deepen their expertise, our PACT Advanced Dementia Care Training is a comprehensive 9–16-week guided learning program. This course goes beyond traditional training by combining pre-recorded materials with guided case studies and weekly guidance calls.
Course Highlights:
- Proactive Strategies and Emotional Resilience: Learn to anticipate and address potential challenges before they escalate and how limit your own stress.
- Demonstrate Competency: This course meets sections 4, 5, 8 & 9 of the Dementia Standards Framework.
- Expert-Led Practical Training: Apply what you learn through real-life scenarios, guided by your course leader.
